The Simplicity of the Gospel

The Simplicity of the Gospel!

God has made His message of salvation, the message we call the Gospel, simple for us.

In fact, it is so simple that anyone who is willing to believe can be born again!

  • John 1:12-13  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

We cannot rely on our religion to be rightly related to God.

We cannot trust in our own goodness to earn favor with God.

We cannot depend on our logic to make a way for us to enter the kingdom of God.

But it means that we must simply believe and receive the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:3-4):

    • That Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures.
    • That Jesus was buried, and that He rose the third day, according to what the Bible teaches.

By believing and receiving, you can be born again.

This is not a physical birth – but a spiritual birth.

This is not you and me trying to do something whereby we can earn God’s favor!

Instead, it is us trusting what He has already provided by grace for us through His Son.

    • Ephesians 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So, here is the simplicity of the Gospel:

First:  We are all sinners, separated from God.

    • Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Second:  God loves sinners and wants a relationship with them.

    • Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Third:  God made it possible for us to know Him, if we would but believe on His Son, and receive Jesus by faith.

    • Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Are YOU willing to believe and receive the Lord Jesus today?
